We will be discontinuing cheques as they are fast becoming obsolete.
The use of cheques to make and receive payments has been declining over the past few years, and we are therefore discontinuing all cheque-related services with effect from 1 January 2021.
From 1 January 2021 we will no longer offer the following services:
|Chequebooks||We will not print or issue new chequebooks.|
|Bank cheques/Bank-guaranteed cheques||We will no longer issue bank cheques.|
|Special/Immediate clearance||The standard seven-day clearance period will apply – you won’t be able to get special or immediate cheque clearance.|
|Cheques with statements||We will no longer return cheques with statements. Electronic images of cheques will still be available.|
|Cheque deposits||We will no longer accept cheque deposits into any account.|
|Cheque encashment||We will no longer encash cheques.|
